Where is Nash Dancenter located?
Nash Dancenter is conveniently located off Route 10 West in Randolph, NJ. We are the 5th building on the right on Emery Avenue. Detailed directions can be found here.
Is parking available?
Ample parking is available in Nash Dancenter's parking lot. Parking in the street and neighboring lots is also permitted in cases of overflow during large evening events.
What if I don't have a partner?
No problem! Your instructor will serve as your dance partner during private lessons. Since dance is a social activity, you will also meet and practice with other dancers at classes, socials and events.
Do I need dance experience to take lessons?
No. Every dancer has started as a newcomer! The more practice and experience you gain by attending socials and taking lessons, the better dancer you will become.
Is dancing difficult? I have two left feet and no rhythm!
Not really. Dancing is very much like walking in a set pattern and rhythm. If you can walk forward, backward, and step to each side, you can dance! Our instructors will make learning fun and easy!
What should I wear?
For classes, you will want to wear comfortable, business casual clothing that allows for movement.

Most socials and special events are dressy, though we also host a handful of formal galas throughout the year. No jeans, sneakers or shorts, please!

Although not required, dance shoes with suede bottoms are ideal and may be purchased in our boutique. If you do not have dance shoes, men should choose comfortable shoes with a hard, leather sole and ladies should wear dress shoes with a closed back and ankle support. Sandals, flip flops, boots and sneakers or shoes with rubber soles are NOT advisable.

What dances do I learn and where can I go dancing?
Nash Dancenter hosts a number of socials and special events throughout the year (see our special events page). Your skills will often come in handy at weddings and other personal events!
How long does it take to learn?
While every student moves at his or her own pace, the progress you make depends upon how frequently and routinely you take your lessons and how good a dancer you would like to be. Your instructor will discuss your dancing goals with you.

On the average, it takes 2–3 months and 10–15 private lessons for someone to become comfortable dancing on a social level. However, you will be able to dance after your first lesson!

The length of your training also depends on how many dances you would like to learn and how proficient you would like to become in each dance.

Why should I take dance lessons?
Dancing is a wonderful social activity with many positive benefits. Good dancing is a healthy lifetime investment in fun, poise, confidence, improved personality and new friends.

Dancing is also a superb physical conditioner: it encourages good posture and provides fun and exercise without strenuous effort!

See our Benefits of Dance page for even more great reasons to learn to dance!

How do I schedule and how often should I come for lessons?
Nash Dancenter is open 7 days a week and you can schedule by calling the studio at 973-328-7979 during regular hours of operation!

Most dancers come in for lessons at least one or two times a week. We recommend coming at least once a week in order to see healthy progress!

How much does it cost?
We offer a special introductory package for new dancers to introduce you to our studio and teaching style. Our custom packages are flexible to your needs and budget, and payment plans are available. Lessons are priced to include both singles and couples.

Each individual has his or her own goals and motivation for dancing. Cost usually depends on a number of factors; how proficient you want to be; which dances you would like to learn; how many days and weeks in your dance schedule; etc.

Do I have to compete to take lessons at Nash Dancenter?
No. While we do teach competition–level ballroom dancing, we focus on beginners and social dancers.
