Teacher: Dragan Ranitovic

Dragan Ranitovic Dragan was born and educated in Serbia, where he developed his interests in dance - ballroom and ballet - alongside a professional foundation in engineering. It was the dancing, however, that brought him to New York City in 1991, where he exclusively devoted himself to a career in dance. His first encounters with Argentine Tango occurred soon after his arrival in New York, at the very time when the dance was beginning to be reintroduced as part of a developing world revival of the dance. He lingered in that rapidly evolving tango world for over 10 years, and eventually came to focus almost exclusively on this dance. Why Tango? The music, the passion, the elegance, the natural embrace, the freedom of movement and expression, the lifestyle, and the people who are drawn to it... there are many elements that mark tango as uniquely compelling, not only as a dance, but as a culture, a culture that often becomes an obsession

8:30-9:15pm – Pre Performace Tango Class

Teacher: Olga McGuire

Olga McGuire discovered the Argentine Tango in 2005 and instantly fell in love with its beauty, movement and sensibility. She immersed herself extensively, studying with tango masters in Argentina and US. After some years of study and student performances, Olga is involved in organizing workshops and Milongas. Her understanding of tango, its technique, and the precision of her teaching makes her a favorite among her students. She will often be found assisting her main Argentine Tango teacher, Dragan Ranitovich, during his workshops in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York.
